At long last our arch is done and so is the painting! I added more pictures

We are very pleased with our “new boat” at least our new looking boat. Wayne only has 3 more Mondays to work. We can hardly wait to move back aboard on November 1. We have an appointment to get hauled out on November 4th to paint the bottom and do sail drive maintenance. When those tasks are completed we will be headed south!

The solar panels are all connected. Sunday we unplugged from shore power for a test and they were working great! We could see the controller doing what is was supposed to do, as the fridge would run, the controller would allow more solar charging to make up for the usage. It is WONDERFUL to see it all finally coming together. Wayne will finish the lifelines and add the wind generator blades next weekend.

We still have to do some work to enclose the cockpit and restructure the canvas to incorporate our new “solar roof”. The cockpit enclosure may not be perfect this year but we have a solution that will work for now which will keep out the bugs and rain until we have more time to do something better. Over the winter we will try to come up with a brilliant idea for a better enclosure and will plan to fix it next summer.

I will start updating the journal/blog again on a regular basis beginning in November.
