Dirt Dwellers

The crew of Born to Cruise has become temporary "dirt dwellers" and have gone back to work for a year in Cary, NC. This will refresh the cruising kitty and also pay for an arch and solar panels.

Born to Cruise is docked safely at Northwest Creek Marina, in New Bern, NC where we can easily visit on weekends.

A cruisers plans are made in Jello...

A saying I really like and now truely understand is that "a cruiser's plans are made in Jello". Plans are constantly changing, shifting and wiggling around.

After some close evaluation of our finances and a lot of what ifing of pros and cons, we are going to take a year off of cruising and work. Our cruising kitty savings account was hit really heavy with our boat yard tour of Florida and continues to be deminished with our repairs and improvements this summer.

The positive side is that Wayne's skills are very marketable as a contractor right now. So he is busy searching the internet and will start sending out resumes today. We will try to stick to the east coast. After Wayne finds a job, I will find something in that same town.

The best paying positions seem to be in small towns inland. We are looking for the most money, so we will go where the jobs are. If we are not in a coastal town then Born to Cruise will stay in New Bern.

Season Two is about to Begin

We will soon begin our second season of crusing on Born to Cruise. This season I am going to use Google Blogger to create our blog. It will allow more options. I hope all of us will find this to be a positive change. The blog of our first cruising season is still available from our home webpage at www.borntocruise.com
